Growing up in the city I would say I lived a rough life... Not complaining, but I've been through personal experiences in the last 6 years that people don't endure or encounter in their lifetime. 

Leaving home at 15, I exposed myself to a dark side. 

Suffering from extreme OCD, Social Anxiety and depression, my teenage years were extremely hectic, moving highschools 6 times within 3 years before finally dropping out. 
I had no friends. 

At 15, I was living out of shelters and group homes, to eventually living out of grungy motels and hotels within the GTA. I decided one day to move out of the city, hoping to start a new life on a new slate. With $23,000 cash I had saved up I moved to a small town north of Toronto where the town had a population of 1,000.

Driving around, and walking my now 8 year old Shepherd who took me from living in shit holes to actually caring, I noticed alot of horse stables in the area. 

I started to attend private lessons once per week. This continued into taking several.... Several a week at differen't barns even... sometimes on the exact same day...  I would literally attend a private lesson at one barn and 4 hours later drive an hour away to attend another one. Riding made me happy. It made my anxiety decrease significantly and I learned to be strong again physically and emotionally. I learned the inside and outs of the buisness and different ways coaches teach. Learning the scams, the positives, the negatives. Experiencing coaches that would even teach me wrong, taking advantage of my ambition and independence. 
Eventually at 23, I purchased my 1st horse. I was a complete nervous beginner thanks to my previous idiotic coaches who thought they were professional "experts" in the entire equine world... HA. An OTTB, 3 years in age. Just a baby off the track. I learned way too much. 
The first stable we were at was amazing. We were progressing.

I ended up moving him to another barn due to my barn manager creating fake vet bills, fake rips in my $350.00 turn out blankets, etc. 

I am now 25, and own 2 which are my 3rd and 4th.

Without horses, my life would not be the same.

It is now my time to give back to these amazing animals who gave me a second chance at life.
